We wanted to try something different and this certainly was different and surprisingly amazing. Cute, little place, may want to make reservations, we went for a walk around the neighborhood until our table was ready. From the moment we walked in, the staff was very friendly and food was amazing, nothing you have tried before, the special for the night was fish with roasted banana on the top! It was amazing, everyone should try this place.

As a swiss food obsessed lady, this restaurant is delicious and EVERYTHING I WANTED 3 The fondue was delicious and so worth my lactose intolerance pain (iykyk) The space is small and intimate, the staff is attentive and kind. Every bite of our food was delicious, and I'm honestly mad i couldn't finish the fondue, lol We highly recommend Swiss Hibiscus to anyone wanting to have a delicious night out and quality amazing food

This is such a great spot! The vibes are cozy with just a few little tables, Swiss motifs in the decor, and a little window into the kitchen--it feels really intimate, like you're in a bed and breakfast almost. The menu is really fun and has an old-world, hearty feel. The food was delicious! Also worth noting that many things can be made gluten free (for Celiac, too), including many of the sauces and schnitzel, which was an awesome surprise. The service was friendly and relaxed. Awesome little hidden gem in Alberta!

Had the goulash with rosti, FANTASTIC!! The staff is very kind and responsive. The inside is small with not many tables so make sure to reserve ahead. Can’t wait to visit again!

The restaurant is a nice little gem of Portland. Delicious food with good sized portions. I had the Emince Zurichoise, with rosti, and a starter of Swiss Barley soup. I also had the profiterole with ice cream and chocolate sauce. As someone who lived in Switzerland previously, this brings me back with how good is everything. The friendly service staff are always attentive with refilling water glasses, taking finished dishes away, and any other requests. My partner is gluten intolerant and they were ready with letting us know about which menu items had gluten. Overall, lovely little place and a gem of Portland.

What can I say except Swiss Hibiscus exceeded my expectations! When I found this restaurant for our vacation, it was because I was feeling cheese fondue for the evening. I found delicious cheese fondue, incredible entrees, dessert, and customer service! The restaurant setting is so cozy along with really nice employees. We ordered the escargot, cheese fondue, Swiss onion soup, spaghetti ticinese, and caramel custard for dessert. I recommend absolutely everything we ordered, especially the caramel custard!!! As a self proclaimed dessert expert, it was perfect. We also got some complimentary homemade holiday dessert made by the owner’s mother. How sweet was that? Will definitely be back next time we’re in Portland! Thank you Swiss Hibiscus and your lovely staff!

Tiny restaurant in the Alberta district that serves very high quality and authentic Swiss food. The only place you can get REAL swiss fondue don't skip it. My favorites are the paprika schnitzel and spaetzle. There are daily specials and our vegetarian friends really enjoyed the lentil dish. Make a reservation.

We had the most AMAZING dinner at Swiss Hibiscus!! After we ordered our meals and sat down, we were immediately served hot rolls with Martin’s dressing and Martin’s hot dressing. The rolls were light and fluffy and both dressings were delicious. We started with cheese fondue and French bread cubes. It was so good and plenty for the 4 of us. Then we had the French onion soup and Potato Leek soup. Each had excellent flavor. The house salat and cabbage salat both had Martin’s dressing on them and were very fresh. Our entrees were very filling. The pork Osso buco had an amazing sauce and fell right off the bone. The linguine was very tasty. The roast chicken sandwich was seasoned perfectly. The bratwurst with browned onions, au jus and spatzli was fantastic. The chicken wienerschnitzel was perfectly seasoned, lightly breaded and crispy and the spatzli was wonderful. We did make room for desserts. Their special was profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and melted chocolate. We got 2 orders. We also got a house-made chocolate chip cookie ice cream cookie sandwich and vanilla ice cream with melted chocolate. The service was impeccable. Both servers were very kind and attentive. The chef has put her heart and soul into the preparation of our meals. We are looking forward to our next visit!
